What this policy covers

समर्थ दिनदर्शिका (Samarth Dindarshika) provides daily and monthly Panchang (Hindu calendar) information — tithi, nakshatra, Rahu Kaal, Choghadiya, muhurat and festival dates — for locations across Maharashtra, along with numerology calculators, articles, Aarti and Rashifal. This policy covers both:

1. The website at samarthdindarshika.com (Part 1), and
2. The Samarth Dindarshika Android app, package name com.aniket.panchangcalendar (Part 2).

They are run separately and collect different things, so each part says what applies to it.

Information we collect

You do not need an account, and we do not collect names, phone numbers or email addresses. Anything you type into the numerology calculators (a name, a birth date) or the location search is processed in your own browser to show you a result. It is not sent to our servers and we do not store it.

If you email us, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply.

Cookies & advertising

We do not use cookies of our own for tracking or analytics. This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or more generally at aboutads.info/choices. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Analytics and server logs

We do not run analytics or tracking scripts on the website. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Netlify) may keep standard server logs — for example IP address, browser type and the pages requested — for security and to operate the service.

Third-party links

The website links to other websites and services, such as Google Play and Facebook. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

What stays on your phone

The app does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, phone number or email address. The following are stored only on your device and are not sent to us:

• the village or taluka you choose (you pick it from a list — the app does not ask for access to your phone's GPS location, and the timings are calculated on your phone);
• your personal notes and reminders;
• your notification time and other app settings;
• the time your ad-free period ends, if you use that option (see "Advertising" below).

Notes backup

If you use the notes backup feature, the app creates a backup file and opens Android's share menu; you choose where it is saved (for example Google Drive, or your phone's storage). We do not receive this file. To restore, you pick a backup file from your own device.

Notifications

Reminders and daily notifications are scheduled on your device. You can change or turn them off in the app's Settings or in your phone's notification settings.

Content updates

The app downloads articles and a notice about new app versions from online files that we publish (a Google Sheet and a file hosted on GitHub). As with any internet request, those services can see your device's IP address.

Usage analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which screens are used and to find problems. It may collect an app-instance identifier, device and app information (such as device model, Android version and app version), and events such as screens viewed. Where your phone's settings allow it, it may also use the Android advertising ID. We do not use analytics to identify you personally. More: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Advertising

The app shows ads from Google AdMob and, through AdMob's mediation, Meta Audience Network. To serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, these providers may collect your Android advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be inferred), device and app information, and how you interact with ads.

• Your choices: you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads; the exact menu varies by phone).
• Consent: where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the app shows a consent form before personalized ads are served. In those regions you can reopen it and change your choice at any time from the app's Settings ("जाहिरात गोपनीयता पर्याय").
• Ad-free option: you can choose to watch an optional rewarded video ad to switch off banner and interstitial ads for a limited time. We only store, on your device, the time that period ends.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. Google (AdMob and Firebase) and Meta process the information described above under their own privacy policies:

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device. Information held by Google or Meta can be managed through your Google account settings and your Meta privacy and ad settings.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the website or the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. The current version is always at https://samarthdindarshika.com/privacy.
